VJ Books Presents Author Lisa Scottoline!
Lisa Scottoline was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1955. She graduated magna cum laude and a year early from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in English, concentrating in the Contemporary American Novel. She graduated cum laude from University of Pennsylvania Law School several years later and during her time there was an associate editor for the university's Law Review.
Scottoline has clerked under judges at the state and federal level as well as practicing law as an associate at Dechert, Price & Rhoads. She has also served as the president of the President of the Mystery Writers of America. She single-handedly raised her daughter, Francesca Serritella, who is also a New York Times Best Selling author. The two collaborate on a humorous column in the Philadelphia Enquirer titled Chick Wit, which has also been compiled and published as a series of collections.
Scottoline published her first novel, Everywhere That Mary Went, in 1994. Her debut earned her an Edgar nomination, and she has now published over 30 novels, in addition to her non-fiction volumes.
She lives in a farmhouse Philadelphia with an assortment of animals, large and small.
