 Thomas Greanias was born Februrary 19, 1965 in Wilmette, IL. He earned his bachelors and masters degrees in journalism at Northwestern University inside four years while also reporting for NBC television affiliates, CBS radio affiliates and Gannett newspapers. He was also a rare American to travel in the former Soviet Union years before its collapse. Along the way he majored in national security and Northwestern's fiction honors program.
Greanias is the New York Times bestselling author of acclaimed international thrillers, including the Raising Atlantis trilogy, Dominium Dei trilogy and The Alignment series. His books in print have been translated into a dozen languages and sold in 200 countries worldwide.
He is married to his college sweetheart, Laura, a distinguished newspaper editor who has served as both executive news editor of the Los Angeles Times and as city editor of the Los Angeles Daily News. They have two boys and a golden retriever.
