VJ Books Presents Author Tana French!
Tana French was born in Burlington, Vermont in 1973. She grew up in many places, including Ireland, Italy, and Malawi. French studied acting at Trinity College in Dublin, where she settled after graduating.
As an actor, French has done work in film, voiceover, and especially theater. Acting is not always the most steady of careers, even in success, and she has used the time between roles to write. Her first novel, In the Woods, was published in 2007, and won, quite impressively, the Edgar, Anthony, Macavity, and Barry awards for Best First Novel. She has since published five more books in the same Dublin Murder Squad series.
French currently lives in Dublin with her husband. They have two children.
