VJ Books Presents Author Steven Hartov!
Steven Hartov was born in New London, Connecticut and was awarded a scholarship to study at Boston university. He paused his studies to join the U.S. Merchant Marine Military Sealift Command, but completed his BFA when he returned a few years later. Following graduation, Hartov volunteered for the Israel Defense Forces Airborne Corps. During his time there, he served as a paratrooper and reservist, as well as working in the Special Operations branch of the Israeli intelligence service.
Hartov subsequently returned to the United States and was recruited into the New York Guard, where he is currently an officer. His professional career also includes time spend as the Editor-In-Chief of the Special Operations Report as well as lecturing and appearing as an expert guest in the field of military intelligence. He has published or contributed to multiple non-fiction works, and has written numerous screenplays, including Thick and Thin, which starred Sam Bottoms.
Hartov's first published novel, The Heat of Ramadan (1992), launched the Israeli espionage trilogy for which he is best known as an author of fiction. He also participated in adapting the book to the screen as Point Men (2001).
