VJ Books Presents Author Scott McEwen!
Scott McEwen was born in 1961. He grew up in Eastern Oregon, and as a young man enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hiking. He became an Eagle Scout before earning his undergraduate degree in his home state. He continued his education in London, England, where he also worked for some time.
McEwen works as a litigation attorney, and has also taught at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law. He is a very active philanthropist and works with multiple military charitable organization including the Seal Team Foundation.
McEwen's interest in military history, intense patriotism, and experience with long-range hunting rifles, compelled him to accurately record the battlefield experiences of Chris Kyle, the most lethal sniper in United States military history. Their book, American Sniper was also retold on the silver screen and became the highest grossing war film. Following his non-fiction debut, McEwen also began writing novels, including his Sniper Elite series.
McEwen currently resides in San Diego, California.
