VJ Books Presents Author Robyn Young!
Robyn Young was born in Oxford in 1975 and grew up in Devon. She attended Exeter College. During that time, she had several poems published and won an award for journalism. Young worked briefly as a financial consultant, during which time she started writing a novel.
After visiting Egypt in 2000, she returned to England and started a course in creative writing at Sussex University. By the end of that year, she had begun writing Brethren. She went on to do a Masters in Creative Writing, the Arts and Education at Sussex. She continued to write Brethren which had then become a trilogy.
She later did a teacher training course and taught creative writing in local colleges. After deciding to rewrite the Brethren Trilogy, she left teaching. Hodder & Stoughton picked up the Brethren Trilogy after she completed the rewrite.
Alongside writing novels, Young has collaborated on a WWII screenplay. Her books have been published in 22 countries in 19 languages and together have sold almost 2 million copies.
Young has a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of Sussex and lives and writes in Brighton.
