Before becoming a full-time mom and author, Kubica studied History and American Literature at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and subsequently taught high school history. After four years of writing, editing, and weathering the many rejection letters that come with becoming a novelist, her first thriller, The Good Girl (2014), was published.

With more than a half-dozen novels now published, her books have sold more than 2 million copies across the globe. When not writing, Kubica enjoys gardening, working at her local animal shelter, reading, and photography. She lives near Chicago with her husband and two children.
