VJ Books Presents Author Keith McCafferty!
Keith McCafferty grew up in southeast Ohio. He earned his undergraduate degree in Zoology from Duke University and then a Master's in Journalism from the University of Michigan. His career has ranged from habitat restoration to steel mills to magazines. He worked as a reporter for the Bakersfield Californian, where he met his wife, journalist Gail Schontzler. And he is now the survival and outdoor skills editor for Field and Stream.
McCafferty's first novel, The Royal Wulff Murders, was published in 2012, and has since developed into a series. He is also the author of the L.L. Bean Family Camping Handbook and the L.L. Bean Hiking and Backpacking Handbook, which his son illustrated. McCafferty likes to write in coffee shops, and is an avid fly fisherman. He is the recipient of the Robert Traver Award for angling literature, and has been a National Magazine Award finalist.
McCafferty now lives in Bozeman, Montana with his wife. They have two adult children.
