VJ Books Presents Author John R. Maxim!
John R. Maxim was born in 1937 in New York City. He grew up in Manhattan and earned a degree from Fordham University. He spent some time as a military pilot following graduation and also pursued skydiving and racing as hobbies. After completing his service, he went into advertising, working for companies such as Proctor and Gamble in New York and Cincinnati.
Maxim had a longstanding interest in writing novels, and one day on his commute home, he decided to quit his job and spend a year giving writing a shot. He sold his first novel, Platforms, in under six months without an agent, and never looked back. He is the author of the bestselling Bannerman series, as well as various standalone novels.
John currently lives on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina with his wife.
