Dear John:
I have Reed Farrel Coleman's first three books from Permanent Press. There is not a number line or an indication that they are 1 st Editions. I have been told that Permanent Press did not include the number line and that mine are indeed 1st/1st. Do you have any information on these books? M.

John replies:
We were not familiar with Permanent Press, but did check McBride's and it reads:
"Permanent Press used two different conventions for indicating first edition:
1) the words first edition must appear on the back of the title page with no additional printings indicated, or
2) no additional printings indicated in the book
From the information you have provided, our best guest is that you have 1st editions.
John
