The Dirk Pitt Series


It all started with Dirk Pitt, the consummate adventurer, and director of NUMA (National Underwater and Marine Agency). Standing 6 feet 3 inches Pitt's craggy looks, dark wavy hair, and striking opaline green eyes, give him a commanding presence, combined with a quick, sly wit, which often infuriates those opposed to him. Along with his lifelong friend and sidekick, Al Giordino, he has saved the world from destruction, whether from raging environmental catastrophes, or by the hand of some fanatical villain, too many times to keep count. He came to life in PACIFIC VORTEX, the First Cussler novel, but we met him first in THE MEDITERRANEAN CAPER, back in 1973. Cussler told the tales of Dirk Pitt through 17 thrilling adventures concluding with TROJAN ODYSSEY in 2003. Since then, the next six Dirk Pitt Adventures have come from the pen of Clive's son Dirk Cussler beginning with BLACK WIND in 2004, continuing through 2014's HAVANA STORM.
