VJ Books Presents Author David Harsent (aka Jack Curtis and David Lawrence)!
David Harsent was born in Devon, England in 1942. Harsent is an English poet with eleven published volumes of poetry alone. He has also written screenplays and collaborated with various composers on a number of works of musical theater. His work has been performed at the Royal Opera House, Carnegie Hall, the Proms and on BBC Channel 4 TV. In addition, Harsent wrote several crime novels under the pseudonyms Jack Curtis and David Lawrence.
Harsent is the recipient of numerous literary awards, most recently the T.S. Eliot Prize for Best Poetry Collection for his work Fire Songs. He teaches Creative Writing at the University of Roehampton and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, Honorary Research Fellow at Royal Holloway University and in 2005 was appointed Distinguished Writing Fellow at Sheffield Hallam University, where he is now a visiting professor. He lives in London.
