VJ Books Presents Author Chris Harding Thornton!
Chris Harding Thornton was born and raised in Nebraska. She completed the University of Nebraska (UNO), Omaha Writer's Workshop before going on to earn an MFA at the University of Washington in Seattle and then a Ph.D. in English from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln (UNL).
She now teaches a variety of English courses at both UNO and UNL and serves as a writing consultant for faculty and graduate students there. She does PR writing for various recording artists. Her previous jobs included quality assurance overseer at a condom factory, jar-lid screwer at a plastics plant, Burger King closer, record store clerk, and manager of an all-ages club.
Thornton's poetry has been published in the Tampa Review and the Baltimore Review. Her creative nonfiction has appeared in Assay, and a chapbook of her short stories was released by the DoomTown U.S.A. record label. Her first novel, Pickard County Atlas, was published in 2021, and a second novel is currently in the works.
