VJ Books Presents Author Carsten Stroud (aka David Stone)!
 Carsten Stroud was born in Quebec, Canada in 1946. He is Canadian/American writer of thrillers, both realistic and supernatural, as well as non-fiction. He has worked for the Toronto police department and as a journalist. He has built boats in California, become a champion surfer, and a US army diver. As a journalist, he specialized in crime and espionage.
Stroud is the New York Times-bestselling author of Deadly Force (1984). His non-fiction book Iron Bravo (1995) is on the U.S. Army's Recommended Reading List, and his Niceville series has been recommended by Steven King. His work has twice been awarded the Arthur Ellis award by the Crime Writers of Canada. Some of his earlier novels were published under the pseudonym David Stone.
Stroud resides in Thunder Beach, Ontario, Canada, where he continues to write.
