VJ Books Presents Author Bill Pronzini!
Bill Pronzini was born in 1943 in Petaluma, California. His writing career began in 1971 with the publication of his first novel, The Stalker, as well as the first of many stories to come following his most famous character, the Nameless Detective.
Pronzini is an extremely prolific author, having published over 300 short stories and nearly 100 novels. He has written under multiple pen names including William Hart Davis, Jack Foxx, William Jeffrey, and Alex Saxon. Pronzini writes primarily mystery/detective novels and short stories in those and other genres. His work tends to be strongly character-based. He has been nominated for far too many mystery writing awards to count, and was awarded The Eye the Lifetime Achievement Award presented by The Private Eye Writers of America and designated as a Grand Master by the Mystery Writers of America.
In 1992, after collaborating on several novels in the preceeding years, Pronzini and fellow mystery writer Marcia Muller were married. Since then they have continued their collaborations on paper and in life. They live in Northern California.
