VJ Books Presents Author Andrew Pyper!
Andrew Pyper was born in Stratford, Ontario, in 1968. He received a
B.A. and M.A. in English Literature from McGill University, as well as a
law degree from the University of Toronto. Although called to the bar
in 1996, he has never practiced.
His first novel, Lost Girls, was a national bestseller in Canada and a Globe and Mail Notable Book selection in 1999 as well as a Notable Book selection in the New York Times Book Review (2000) and the London Evening Standard (2000). The novel won the Arthur Ellis Award for Best First Novel.
His novel The
Demonologist won the 2014 International Thriller Writers Award for Best
Hardcover Novel, and was a #1 bestseller in Canada. Film rights have
been sold to Universal Pictures with Robert Zemeckis' company,
ImageMovers, producing.
Andrew's creative writing teaching experience includes terms at Trent
University, the University of Toronto, and, currently, Colorado College.
Last year he won the Grant Allen Award for contributions to Canadian
crime and mystery literature.
He lives in Toronto.
