VJ Books Presents Author Alan L. Lee!
Alan L. Lee is an award-winning journalist and author. He began his Journalism career at the acclaimed Purdue University newspaper, The Exponent, where he rose to the position of Sports Editor while still an undergrad. After earning his Journalism Degree, Alan left the chill of the Midwest to become a sports reporter in St. Thomas, USVI.
From the Virgin Islands, Alan returned to the Chicago where he cut his teeth on major metropolitan news as an Assignment Desk Editor for powerhouse NBC affiliate WMAQ-TV.
After a stint in sports at the CBS affiliate in Evansville, Indiana, Lee accepted a newly-created co-anchor position on the morning show of Washington, D.C's NBC station, WRC-TV. Lee had the privilege of covering the storied Washington newsbeats of the White House, the Pentagon and the CIA. It was here Alan's burning lifelong interest in espionage truly caught fire, and where the first seeds of Sandstorm began to germinate.
He later became the Morning Anchor at Detroit's Fox station, WJBK-TV. For eighteen years, Lee helped build Fox 2 News Morning into a ratings juggernaut, by combining his signature blend of seasoned journalism with an uncanny knack for making every guest, from politicians to entertainers, feel welcome and at ease. Alan particularly enjoyed interviewing and learning from the myriad of best-selling authors who made it a point to visit Fox 2 during the Detroit legs of their book tours. In July of 2014, Alan decided to leave the anchor desk to write full-time.
Lee loves all things sports and is a great fan of Jazz. He resides in Southern California with his wife, their two sons and their two canine children, Winston and Daisy.
