VJ Books Presents Author Jussi Adler-Olsen!
Jussi Adler-Olsen was born in 1950 in Copenhagen, Denmark. He enjoyed writing stories as a child, but did not decide to become a novelist until his 30s. He spent 8 years at university studying medicine, film, and social studies, and his varied education has been mirrored by a varied career.
Adler-Olsen has worked as an editor, translator, journalist, managing director, publishing director, composer, and as chairman of multiple companies. He has written screenplays, stage plays, comics, novels, and non-fiction works. His first published novel The Alphabet House (Alfabethuset), was published initially in Denmark in 1997, and later around the world. His books have now been published in more than 40 languages and his novels have been sold more than 17 million copies. His work has earned him numerous literary awards, including a Barry Award in 2012, and the Danish De Gyldne Laurbær (The Golden Laurels) in 2011.
Adler-Olsen is also an Honorary Craftsman of the Danish Craftsman Association. He lives in Copenhagen with his wife and son.
