VJ Books Presents Author Lincoln Child!

Lincoln Child was born in 1957 in Westport, Connecticut. He enjoyed writing short stories as a child, and penned his first and second (unpublished) novels before he was old enough to vote. He graduated from Carlton College in Minnesota, with a degree, surprise, in English.

Child then moved to New York and got a job as an Editorial Assistant at St. Martin's Press. Several years later, as a fully-fledged author, he commissioned Douglas Preston, a writer and editor for the American Museum of Natural History in New York, to write a book on the history of the museum. The two became friends, and years later, after Child had left the publishing industry in favor of computer programming, the two would collaborate on a techno-thriller novel titled Relic (1995). Relic is now a motion picture, and Preston and Child have written some two dozen novels together, most of which are best sellers. Child has also written several novels solo, including his Jeremy Logan series.

Child's other interests include making music, esoteric programming langues, hiking, and pre-1950s poetry and fiction. He lives in Sarasota, Florida and enjoys the company of exotic parrots as well as people.
